"There is method to the madness"

Rapid change has become the norm in our daily lives. Uncontrolled, it can be chaotic, but it doesn't have to be. The agile and lean communities have been pioneering techniques for harnessing change for business benefit for well over a decade, yet many of these principles and practices have yet to become commonplace. Yes, change can be a bit crazy, but we can harness it, surf the proverbial wave, do great work, and keep our sanity.

So what is Method Sans Madness? Sans is Latin for without or absent. I work to bring lean and agile practices into the product & ux process in a way that enables rapid product iteration and learning while still maintaining the goals and standards the UX community values.

I have been in the field of User Experience for over 18 years. I've worked for start-ups, consulting firms, and Fortune 500 companies. I've been working with agile and scrum teams since 2007, often introducing UX as a discipline while helping teams adopt agile practices.

Agile is a new way of thinking for UX practitioners, but I think there is a lot of potential for benefit in adopting it. Even if you are skeptical, agile is growing. It's likely you will have to work within that environment soon. So get ready.
